Body, Paint & Frame Inspection — UAE

Find the Accident Repair Before You Fund It

Colour-matched paint, professionally-applied filler, and carefully-aligned panels can fool the sharpest eye. They cannot fool a paint thickness gauge, a 42-point panel checklist, and a 27-point frame check. The body inspection tells you what the seller may not want you to know.

The 42-Point Body Check

Every externally-visible panel is inspected for condition and measured for paint thickness. A repainted door or a replaced quarter panel reads in microns that the human eye cannot see. The 42 checkpoints cover:

Front End

Front bumper, hood/bonnet, both front fenders, headlights alignment and lens condition, grille.

Sides

All four doors, both rocker panels/sills, A-pillars, B-pillars, C-pillars — left and right.

Rear End

Both rear quarter panels, trunk/boot lid, rear bumper, tail light housings.

Top & Overall

Roof, roof racks/rails, trim pieces, panel alignment gaps, corrosion and rust assessment.

How the Paint Thickness Gauge Reads

The digital gauge is calibrated for steel and aluminium body construction. It takes multiple readings per panel, flags anomalies against the manufacturer's expected range, and records the results in the final report.

  • 80–150 microns: Original factory paint for most UAE-market models. Some luxury finishes read higher from factory.
  • 180–250 microns: Repaint over original. Could be a blended touch-up or a full panel respray.
  • 250–400 microns: Panel has been repaired with body filler. The deeper the reading, the more substantial the underlying damage.
  • 400+ microns: Significant filler depth — typically from a crash repair where the panel was pulled and filled rather than replaced.
  • Gauge does not read: Panel is non-metallic (plastic bumper, composite hatch) or has been replaced with a non-magnetic material.

The 27-Point Frame Check

Structural integrity is what a car costs in the long run. A bent or welded frame reduces resale value by 30–50% and may void structural warranty claims after future incidents. The frame check covers:

Front Structure

Bumper support, bulk head, radiator frame, cross member, left and right front chassis extensions, left and right front aprons, firewall.

Main Chassis

Chassis rails, floor pan, under-body shields and covers. Any weld that does not match factory pattern is flagged.

Pillars

Left and right A-, B-, and C-pillars. Pillar damage is the strongest indicator of a major side impact or rollover.

Rear Structure

Rear bumper support, rear panel, trunk floor, both rocker panels. Rear damage is routinely "cleaned up" cosmetically while leaving structural clues.

Frequently Asked

What does a body and paint inspection cover?

InspectCar body and paint inspection covers 42 body checkpoints and 27 frame checkpoints. Every panel — bumpers, hood, fenders, doors, quarter panels, trunk, roof, and sills — is assessed for condition and measured for paint thickness in microns. The frame check verifies chassis rails, cross members, floor pan, and pillars.

How does a paint thickness gauge detect repairs?

Factory paint on UAE-market cars typically measures 100 to 180 microns on steel panels. Repainted panels read 250+ microns. Panels with body filler can read 400+ microns. The gauge exposes these differences immediately — even when the new paint matches the original colour perfectly.

Can you detect replaced panels?

Yes. Replaced panels show subtly different paint thickness, spot welds in unexpected patterns, slightly misaligned gaps, and missing or duplicate VIN stickers. All of these are checked.

What if the car has a documented accident history?

A documented accident does not mean the repair was proper. The inspection verifies that the repair meets factory specification — correct panel thickness, straight frame, properly aligned body, and no continuing corrosion at welded areas.

Which package includes body and paint inspection?

The AED 250 Body & Computer package and the AED 399 Comprehensive package both include the full 42 body points and 27 frame points with paint thickness readings. The AED 99 Computer Diagnostic package does not include body or paint checks.
